Wilde was a student in the art of turning the English around to suit his satirical ideas and in the play he achieved that to a higher degree. The name of The piece is still The play-on-word “ Earnest ” which will mean two other things. It may relate the obvious and take the real characters name, but it also will imply a sense of sincerity and he then communicates this seriousness into experience for the characters. The two main characters in this play, Jack and Algernon, made every attempt to take “ Ernest ” and “ Earnest ” at this fun. They make their relationship from that lies in the feeling of marrying the girls that they enjoy. There is humor in this play when they both tell themselves “ Earnest ”, a family that indicates honesty and truthfulness, yet they both make stories to avoid something or the other.
